YUUUP. I haven't got to the 18th book yet, but I was not impressed with the anthropologist in... whatever book it was, the one set at USyd. Probably because USyd is my alma mater, I found it much harder to handwave period-typical racist attitudes set there than when I'm reading about, say, Oxford, or New Zealand or Canada. Yes, it's historically accurate,*and unfortunately not as In The Past as you'd hope*, and I've directly and indirectly benefited from that, and *so has Kerry Greenwood*. Harrumph.
