I think if you read any individual one, or read them over a long period, you probably wouldn't - I've gone through the whole series in about a month. It's the third or fourth time yet ANOTHER white character goes on about how Australia is so PEACEFUL and CLEAN and UNTAINTED BY HORROR you start to go "hang on a second..."
