God, yes, as a kid I used to just go back and read all the scenes where a couple actually TALKED. Sometimes as an adult I found that I'd fantasised entire conversations out of what were in reality about two-line exchanges. Mutual pining is all very well but it's best if it takes place under the surface of actual interactions.
