Dear Yuletide Author,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this! Yuletide is one of my fannish highlights of the year and I’m really looking forward to whatever you write for me. If you’re interested in personalizing things a bit more, read on. If you find it easier to work with just the fandom/characters/DNWs, or have an idea that’s grabbed you already, don’t feel bound to any of the prompts here – they’re just intended as suggestions for people who like to use them.

Stuff I really like in fic includes: people being kind to each other, science (and SCIENCE!), mystery plots/casefic, found family, loyalty, women bonding and female friendship, queer communities, humour, happy endings, the exploration of worldbuilding and its implications (including via AUs), expansion on/use of minor canon details, and cracky premises/tropes treated with some seriousness.
Stuff I would really prefer not to see in exchange fic includes: dark interpretations of characters (or darker than canon, where relevant), brooding, angst, endings that feel hopeless, infidelity, noncon/dubcon, incest, child abuse (sexual and non-sexual), homophobia, transphobia, very explicit or detailed violence, torture, people being humiliated, embarrassment humour, and canon being changed or rewritten Just Because. That said, in general adult elements of all sorts (sex, violence, swearing, discussion of mortgage tax) are fine, especially if in line with the tone of the canon.

Canon notes:

Enchanted Forest Chronicles (Morwen)

I re-read these books this year and was very frustrated by the way the first one is inherently queer and then they get straitjacketed back into fitting with the last/first-written book. In particular I hated how Morwen is a narrator but never gets her own story. Give me a Morwen adventure that matters to Morwen! If it's a gardening contest I will love you forever, but anything will do. Dragons are a bonus. I love the clever use of fairytale tropes and narratives and Morwen's very practical magic. I also like her friendship with Cimorene.
DNW: Telemain/Morwen as a central part of the story, or Telemain as more than a cameo.

Dominion of the Fallen (Thuan, Asmodeus)

I love this ridiculous idealist/pet sociopath pairing. Anything with them - domestic life, House affairs, mystery solving, new supernatural issues, old supernatural issues...you get the picture! I don't mind if it's a little dark (because canon) as long as they really do love each other, in their somewhat repressed way.

The novella released this year was PERFECT and anything else vaguely like that (though obvs not a whole novella) would be brilliant. You are particularly welcome to include Asmodeus' friendship with Thuan's grandmother.

DNW: infidelity, relationship issues.

Band Sinister (Amanda Frisby)
This book is an incredible comfort re-read for me and comfort is what I'm looking for. I love Amanda and her B-side romance with David (I know he's not in the tagset and you're not obliged to include him, but very happy if you do). Would love anything with her being a writer, adjusting to her new career/religion/household, or her friendships with the rest of the Murder. Stuff set during the book from her PoV would also be welcome.
DNW: anything that's from her PoV but is really about Guy/Philip/(etc), and anything centering on her depressing backstory - I want good, fun things for her.

The Daevabad Trilogy (Nahri)

This trilogy 300% stuck the ending for me and I want more. I love its willingness to do away with monarchy, its ultimate hopefulness, and its ability to make you see five sides of a civil war and be worried about everybody (except Ghassan and Manizeh, who are The Worst and got theirs). I particularly love Nahri, her curiosity and her caution and her determination, and that everything comes right for her in the end.

Give me Nahri bonding with Jamshid (inc. over their fatal attraction to al Qahtanis), Nahri and Ali's tentative new relationship, Nahri and al Qahtani sibling drama (it WILL happen), Nahri and Muntadhir's Very Happy Divorce Day, Nahri and her granddad, Nahri and Zaynab hanging out, Nahri deviously solving Daevabad's problems...you get the drift!
DNW: Dara/Nahri, anything too grim and serious plot-wise - let Nahri and her friends solve SMALL problems for a few decades.
